NYC’s NBC Weatherman Drops F-Bomb During Live ‘Today’ Broadcast (Video)

Meteorologist Chris Cimino was caught by surprise by a hot mic

WNBC meteorologist Chris Cimino dropped an f-bomb on live television Thursday morning when he didn’t realize his mic was hot when “Today” anchor Al Roker cut to him for the weather forecast.

“Here’s what’s happening in your neck of the woods,” Roker said before tossing to a graphic, which featured Cimino speaking a little too candidly.

“It’s just a weird f—ing thing, it’s just strange,” Cimino said, about a seemingly unrelated issue during the show’s 8:00 a.m. hour. “Um, but I think if I didn’t do that, I wouldn’t allow myself.”

Cimino was quickly cut off with a series of bells and viewers instead watched an “exclusive 10-day forecast graphic” in silence for 20 seconds. “Today” hosts made no mention of the moment in the immediate aftermath of the incident, and promptly launched into a segment about Kim Kardashian West.

“It was inappropriate, unacceptable and has been addressed. We apologize to our viewers,” a rep for WNBC told TheWrap

For the record: A previous version of this story incorrectly said Cimino is a meteorologist for “Today” instead of NBC’s New York City station.
