‘X Factor’: Watch Melanie Amaro and Caitlin Koch’s Performances (Video)

It was ladies' night as female performers in Miami and Dallas stole the "X Factor" spotlight

Lost in the shuffle of patience-testing contestants like the overly confident, Simon-battling Xander (wasn't it like watching a balloon deflate when he actually started singing and couldn't deliver the goods?) was the fact that there were several memorable performances from last night's second round of auditions on "The X Factor."

In Miami, college freshman Melanie Amaro, refreshingly free of stories about living with 18 people in a studio apartment, wowed the audience and the judges with her cover of Beyonce's "Listen."

And in Dallas, 21-year-old rugby player and coach Caitlin Koch elicited a "wow" from judge Simon Cowell just seconds into her performance of a stripped-down, Sarah McLachlanesque cover of "Stop! In the Name of Love."
