Through interviews with educators, politicians, celebrities and people in afflicted communities, the film seeks to inform viewers about obesity, diabetes and other grave health problems. It also will highlight ways in which people can act to improve themselves.

Quincy Jones III, the Grammy-winning producer and son of Quincy Jones, founded “Feel Rich” with Shawn Ullman to encourage making healthy choices on your own terms, showing how being healthy will actually improve your life.

They operate a YouTube network, a website and have built the brand through partnerships, such as a recent deal with Johnson & Johnson on a mobile app.

"It's going to define the issues of what is going on with health and wellness," Barry Gordon, CEO of XLrator, told TheWrap. "We made some of the most talked about hip-hop narrative documentaries, and everyone is still a little hip-hop, but we need to look at what's happening in the inner cities. Going out and showing off all your money is nothing if you're gonna die of diabetes or have a heart attack or don't take care of yourself and your family."

As Gordon mentioned, Jones III and Peter Spirer all worked together on a series of hip-hop documentaries, such as "Tupac Shakur: Thug Angel." This project brings them all back together.

It also ropes in the legendary Quincy Jones, who will be an executive producer.

Gordon said they want the project to reach as wide an audience as possible, so it may appear in theaters but it will not debut in them exclusively. The producers are looking at video on demand, subscription services like Netflix, theaters and other digital platforms.
