You Get A Show! You Get A Show! Gayle, Shania Land OWN Series, Too

Winfrey setting up lots of celebs with their own cable showcases

Oprah Winfrey is giving Gayle King her OWN talk show (again).

While most of OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network’s slate was handed to the Wall St. Journal in advance, the Discovery-owned network did hold back one bit of development. Thursday, OWN announced plans for "Gayle King Live!," which appears to be a Don Imus-style TV simulcast of King’s Sirius XM radio show.

OWN also unveiled a bit more info about the new talent competition series Winfrey and Burnett and doing for the channel. Its working title: "Your Own Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star."

Winfrey wil give more details on her current daytime show in May.

OWN also announced a series with Shania Twain, dubbed "Why Not?, which will be a docusoap focusing on Twain’s "climb back to the top." (We weren’t aware Twain was having issues!) The talented Gay Rosenthal, who produced the original "Behind the Music" for VH1, will produce the Twain project.
