YouTube Stars to Make Videos for Charity Crowdfunding Campaigns (Exclusive)

MysteryGuitarMan and Brizzy Voices are among the talent participating

Popular YouTube personalities Mystery Guitar Man and Brizzy Voices will make videos to launch crowdfunding campaigns for assorted charities as part of a new partnership between prominent YouTube network Big Frame and online fundraising site Rally.org, the companies will announce Thursday.

Anyone can start a program on rally.org and solicit funds for a given cause, riaisng money from anyone who wants to contribute.

Several members of Big Frame’s network, which has amassed more than 3 billion views, will make videos about a benevolent non-profit to court funds for assorted causes.

Mystery Guitar Man, whose real name is Joe Penna, will make a video about a San Francisco-based startup that provides public health tools to the developing world. Penna, who has a particular knack for special effects, boasts more than 2.5 million subscribers to his main YouTube channel.

BrizzyVoices, who has almost 300,000 subscribers, will make a video for Operation Smile, a global kid’s charity that helps kids with facial deformities.

AuParis, E-LizzieBooks and MikeyThePlatypus will also participate in the program, and several more members of Big Frame’s network will film videos for causes in the future.

“Giving back is part of Big Frame’s DNA,” Big Frame co-founder Sara Penna said in a statement. “We already have seen great success with this type of endeavor on Rally.org, with OverlyAttachedGirlfriend’s $23K raise for SurfCamp. We’re excited to pair our creators with Rally.org in a more permanent fashion by leveraging their influence for good.”
