Zayn Malik’s first solo song has hit the web less than a week after the singer announced he was leaving One Direction.

“I Won’t Mind” is an acoustic ballad produced by UK producer Naughty Boy. The soulful and bare tune suggests Malik is ready to launch his solo career a lot sooner than fans expected, since he recently said in an interview that his immediate plans after leaving the chart-topping boy band were to “write, relax and chill.”

Naughty Boy tweeted a link to the song on his Soundcloud account late Monday, but the file has since been removed. The demo angered One Direction member Louis Tomlinson, who called the producer “inconsiderate” for releasing the track.

Tomlinson added: “I was talking about the video you tweeted. Clearly trying to wind the fans up! Well you succeeded anyway. Fair play.”

Tomlinson has since deleted the tweets.  Representatives for Malik did not immediately return TheWrap‘s request for comment.

One Direction fans were devastated after Malik said he would be leaving the group, with the terms Zayn or Zayn Malik generating millions of tweets in just a few days.

In one bright spot for his former One Direction members, Malik’s departure boosted the band’s Spotify streams by over 700 percent.
