Now this is corporate synergy: Fox's "New Girl" star/pop singer Zooey Deschanel sang the national anthem for the network's broadcast of the World Series Game 4.

Deschanel, sporting a festive red, white and blue dress, traveled to Arlington, Texas to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" before the Texas Rangers shut out the St. Louis Cardinals 4-0 and tied the Series at 2-2.
The star of one of the fall TV season's biggest breakout hits, Deschanel also just released her latest musical collaboration with singer-songwriter M. Ward, "A Very She & Him Christmas."
