Zynga filed a complaint Tuesday against the Delaware corporation that runs casual sex app "Bang With Friends" for violating intellectual property rights.
The mobile gaming company is seeking findings of infringement and injuctive, compensatory and punitive relief. The complaint was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, San Francisco Division.
Zynga claims the "With Friends" brand is strong and has solely associated with their company. The Plaintiff's catalogue of games includes "Words With Friends," "Scramble With Friends" and "Chess With Friends," among others. The company says "Bang With Friends" has "caught a free ride on the coattails" of those apps.

The complaint contends that the Defendant's principals, who have concealed their identities, admitted that their goal was to make their product "as objectionable as possible."
Zynga claims it "brings this lawsuit to protect its hard-earned intellectual product rights from Defendant's opportunistic exploitation of Zynga's famous family of With Friends trademarks."
The Plaintiff also threw out the following jab about "Bang With Friends" in the complaint: "Based on public reports, the app was created by three twenty-something men over the course of a night and with the help of 'a lot of Red Bull and Vodka."
