Selena Gomez Granted Restraining Order After Stalker Threat

Seasoned stalker, 46, told physician he thought about killing the “Wizards of Waverly Place” star

Selena Gomez has received a temporary restraining order against alleged stalker Thomas Brodnicki, after Brodnicki made a threat against her life.

See the restraining order here.

According to a declaration by Gomez's lawyer, Blair Berk, 46-year old Brodnicki — who has a history of alleged stalking — had traveled from Chicago to Los Angeles to meet the 19-year-old "Wizards of Waverly Place" star.

While being held for psychiatric observation last month, he revealed to a physician that he "entertained thoughts of killing Ms. Gomez." (Brodnicki had been placed in psych hold after threatening "to scratch people's eyes out" while harassing passers-by.)

The declaration further notes that Brodnicki, who has "a long history of mental illness," made "several trips" to Gomez's workplace in an effort to see her.

The temporary restraining order prohibits Brodnicki from coming within 100 yards of Gomez, or her mother, stepfather and assistant. It also prohibits him from contacting her directly or indirectly via telephone, mail, email or other messaging methods.

A court hearing on the matter is scheduled for Nov. 4 at the Burbank Courthouse.
