Ratings: ‘Bachelor,’ ‘Castle’ Rise; CBS Wins Night With ‘2 Broke Girls’

New Fox drama "The Following" drops off 17 percent in key demo

ABC's "The Bachelor" and "Castle" both grew in the ratings Monday night, but CBS grabbed an overall win with the top-rated "2 Broke Girls." Meanwhile, Fox's new drama "The Following" fell off double digits from last week, according to preliminary numbers.

CBS took first place in the key 18-49 demographic with a 2.8 rating/7 share and in total viewers with 9.6 million. "How I Met Your Mother" at 8 p.m. slid 20 percent from last week to a 3.2/9 and had 9 million total viewers, while "Rules of Engagement at 8:30 dropped off 10 percent from last week's season premiere to a 2.8/7, and took 8.4 million total viewers. Though down slightly from last week, "2 Broke Girls" at 9 drew the night's highest ratings with a 3.5/9 and had the night's largest audience with 10.8 million total viewers. "Mike & Molly" at 9:30 took a 2.9/7 with 10.4 million total viewers, while "Hawaii Five-0" at 10 posted a 2.1/6 with 9.5 million total viewers.

ABC took second place in ratings and total viewers with a 2.5/7 and 8.6 million. "The Bachelor" at 8 grew 13 percent to a 2.7/7 and drew 8.4 million total viewers, while "Castle" at 10 climbed 11 percent for a 2.0/5 and had 8.9 million total viewers.

Fox came in third in ratings and total viewers with a 2.3/6 and 8.2 million. "Bones" at 8 ticked down to a 2.2/6 and took 8.7 million total viewers, while "The Following" at 9 dropped 17 percent to a 2.4/6 and drew 7.7 million total viewers.

NBC was fourth in ratings and total viewers with a 1.8/5 and 4.8 million. "The Biggest Loser" at 8 inched down to a season low of 2.0/5 and had 5.5 million total viewers, while the new drama "Deception" at 10 jumped 18 percent for a 1.3/3 and took 3.3 million total viewers.
