ABC Family named Kenny Miller Senior Vice President, Digital Programming and Product on Wednesday. The veteran executive will report to ABC Family President Tom Ascheim, who announced the new hire.

Miller will be tasked with growing ABC Family’s digital audience, developing necessary revenue streams and overseeing product development and multi-content strategy. He will also work closely with Disney/ABC Television Group Digital Media Team and Business Development to expand and develop the network’s streaming, social and mobile space.

Miller comes to ABC Family from Kamio, Inc., where he was a co-founder and investor. While there, he created the Kamio social network and helped develop apps for AMC’s “The Walking Dead” and Netflix’s “Orange Is the New Black,” among others.

Previously, he was the EVP and Head of Digital Product for MTV Networks and a digital programming head for Nickelodeon, both of which are Viacom-owned networks.

“Kenny is a digital pioneer. He is going to bring that incredible talent to us and help us find new ways for our digital and social users to interact with our network and each other in new and meaningful ways,” Ascheim said in a statement.

“ABC Family has a great digital footprint driven by incredibly successful social shows. I look forward to building more digital programming and product that will entertain our audience and allow them to participate in new ways that bring additional value and meaning to our interactions,” Miller said.

ABC Family, a subsidiary of the Disney-ABC Television Group, was launched in 2001.
