Adam Levine and Keira Knightley Make Up, Break Up in ‘Begin Again’ Lyric Clip (Video)

The film’s signature tune, “Lost Stars,” is a frontrunner to get an Oscar nod

Adam Levine sings Keira Knightley a love song in the new lyric video for “Lost Stars,” the key tune from “Once” director John Carney‘s newest musical romantic drama, “Begin Again.”

With “Falling Slowly” from Carney’s last film winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song, “Lost Stars” is considered a strong Oscar contender, and one of the frontrunners to net an Oscar nomination in the category.

The film, out now, also stars Mark Ruffalo as a disgraced record exec who becomes inspired again when he hears Knightley’s aspiring singer-songwriter play at a bar one night. The two race across New York to produce her album, recording wherever and whenever inspiration strikes.

“Begin Again” was picked up by the Weinstein Company out of the Toronto International Film Festival, where it premiered under the title “Can a Song Save Your Life?” The company will likely mount an aggressive awards campaign, particularly in the song category.

“I think ‘Lost Stars’ is a truly terrific song,” Carney told TheWrap. “People might realize it more after the movie when they download the song, but that’s a classic song, it really is. It’s as good as ‘Falling Slowly’ — it’s a really, really, really long-lasting, great song.”
