Aisha Tyler to Exit ‘The Talk’ After 6 Seasons

“Criminal Minds” actress joined the CBS daytime show in Season 2

Aisha Tyler is leaving CBS’ daytime show “The Talk,” she announced on Thursday’s episode.

Tyler, who joined the show’s panel during its second season, will continue to appear for the remainder of Season 7, which wraps on August 4.

At the end of this season, I’m going to be leaving the show,” she said on Thursday. “I have had an amazing six years with you guys. We’ve had babies and weddings, and you know good things have happened, and you know I went through the biggest breakup of my life with you. I could not have done with this without you. I’ll never be able to thank you guys enough.”

The show’s other co-hosts include Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood. Tyler continues to have a busy career, as she co-stars on CBS’ “Criminal Minds,” voices Lana on FXX’s “Archer” and hosts The CW’s “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”

“Saying goodbye to Aisha is a bittersweet moment for all of us at CBS Daytime and ‘The Talk,’” said Angelica McDaniel, executive vice president of daytime and syndicated programming at CBS. “Throughout her six seasons, she has made incredible contributions and shared personal moments, making our viewers, cast and crew all laugh, cry and think, as a result of her signature wit, intelligence and openness.”

McDaniel continued, “It’s no secret Aisha is one of the busiest women in entertainment, and we support her as she decides to focus more time on her passion for directing, her expanded role on CBS’ ‘Criminal Minds,’ hosting The CW’s ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ and her other endeavors … and maybe finally find some time to sleep! We love Aisha and she will always be a part of our family, with a seat waiting for her at ‘The Talk’ anytime she wants to visit.”

Tyler tweeted on Thursday, “Life is about change. Sometimes it’s painful. Sometimes it’s beautiful. Most of the time, it’s both.”

This is not the first time that “The Talk” has said goodbye to a co-host. Marissa Jaret Winokur, who had an out-of-the-studio role, left during Season 1, and Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete both exited following Season 2.
