Amazon Sets ‘Alpha House’ and ‘Betas’ Premiere Dates; Streaming First Three Episodes for Free

After viewers have opportunity to binge on the first three episodes of each series, they’ll have to wait week after week for eight more episodes

Amazon is premiering the first season of political comedy “Alpha House” on Nov. 15 and tech comedy “Betas” on Nov. 22, with the first three episodes of each streaming for free on Amazon Instant Video, the company announced on Monday.

After that, each episode of the Amazon series’ 11-episode seasons will become available weekly, exclusively on subscription service Amazon Prime Instant Video.

“We will release three episodes upfront for all customers so they can try out the shows and get to know the characters. Then we will release new episodes via Prime Instant Video week by week so that customers can chat about the shows and build up anticipation,” Amazon Studios director Roy Price said in a statement. “We’re constantly experimenting and trying new things–and we’re eager to hear customers’ feedback on this model.”

“Alpha House” — which joined “Betas” in beating out a handful of other pilots that Amazon produced and streamed for free earlier this year — was written and produced by Pulitzer Prize-winning cartnoonist Garry Trudeau (“Doonesbury”). John Goodman, Clark Johnson, Matt Malloy and Mark Consuelos star as four senators sharing a rented house in the nations capital.

“Betas” stars  Jon Daly, Joe Dinicol, Karan Soni, Charlie Saxton, and Maya Erskine. The Silicon Valley-set comedy follows four friends as they attempt to strike it rich with a new mobile social networking app.
