‘American Horror Story’ Alum James Cromwell Arrested During SeaWorld Protest

Actor/activist gets the cuffs slapped on him while standing up for the Orcas

At this rate, James Cromwell‘s rap sheet is going to rival his list of screen credits before too long.

The “American Horror Story” alum was arrested on Monday while leading PETA supporters in an attempted takeover of the “Orca Encounter” show at SeaWorld in San Diego, the animal-rights organization said Monday.

According to PETA, Cromwell was handcuffed and taken into custody after brandishing a megaphone while wearing a PETA shirt proclaiming “SeaWorld Sucks” while rallying protesters and “informing the audience about the abusement [sic] park’s history of premature orca deaths and marine mammal suffering.

“Orcas deserve a full life in the ocean, not a life sentence of swimming endless circles until they drop dead from disease,” Cromwell said of the protest. “My friends at PETA and I want SeaWorld to move these intelligent animals to seaside sanctuaries without delay.”

Cromwell is almost becoming as well known for his activism as he is for his acting. In June, the actor was sentenced to to a week in jail for refusing to pay fines stemming from the 2015 protest of a natural-gas power plant in Wawayanda, New York.
