(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you haven’t watched Wednesday’s finale of “America’s Got Talent”)
“America’s Got Talent” wrapped up its two-night Season 10 finale on Wednesday and said goodbye to one of its judges.
Ventriloquist Paul Zerdin was crowned the winner of the NBC talent competition at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City, which was hosted by Nick Cannon with judges are Heidi Klum, Howard Stern, Howie Mandel, Mel B.
Zerdin and his puppet bagged the $1 million prize and the votes of millions of viewers after using comedic characters and personalities to showcase his ventriloquism skills. He will now headline “America’s Got Talent Live” in Las Vegas from Oct. 22 to 24 at the PH Showroom at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
Fan favorite Drew Lynch came in second, while many mourned the fact that the Regurgitator and Oz Pearlman were not at the top of the list.
Another popular face on the show will also not be returning, as Stern bid farewell after four seasons in a heartfelt video earlier Wednesday.
“I felt really fortunate that I could be the guy responsible for bringing the show to New York,” he said in a black and white video showing city street scenes. Stern later tells a man on the street: “You know what — I did the most shocking thing in my career: I was on a family show.”
On Tuesday, however, the harshest judges were on social media as countless Twitter users slammed the show and the disappointing performances.
“It’s so weird! Acts that were strong all season aren’t tonight,” marveled one commentator.
Even Klum said that the contestant were struggling with the stress, writing: “Nerves must be getting to the contestants tonight!”
“America’s Got Talent Live” has been renewed by NBC for Season 11.
