82-Year-Old Man Blows Away ‘America’s Got Talent’ Audience With Drowning Pool Cover (Video)

The rock band is so impressed with John Hetlinger’s performance that he is “welcome” to join them on stage anytime

An 82-year-old man shocked the “America’s Got Talent” crowd on Tuesday night when he started singing Drowning Pool’s “Bodies.”

John Hetlinger started off his audition by telling judges he retired from aerospace engineering 15 years ago and then took up karaoke. But no one could anticipate what was going to happen next.

Hetlinger launched into the lead single from the heavy metal band’s debut album, “Sinner,” which was released in 2001.

While some people listened in utter disbelief, and some even covered their ears with their hands, the majority of the audience jumped to their feet to rock out during the performance.

Drowning Pool also gave Hetlinger a shoutout on their Facebook page, posting the video with the caption, “Bad Ass.” The band even offered the senior citizen the opportunity to sing with the band at an upcoming show.

“Shout out to the 82 year old dude that sang ‘Bodies’ on America’s Got Talent. You are welcome to join us on stage anytime!!!” the band wrote.

TMZ reported that the heavy metal band is even trying to get Hetlinger to the Open Air Festival in July for an encore performance of “Bodies.”
