In Touch Weekly appears to have scooped the rest of the entertainment media world on news of Angelina Jolie’s plans to file for divorce from Brad Pitt after just over two years of marriage.

The Sept. 26 issue of the magazine features a headline, “Brad & Angelina $400M Divorce” with a subhead, “What pushed Brad over the edge.” The magazine’s cover promised an inside look at their “final screaming match” and claims of “separate lives.”

“Brad’s leaving for the Adriatic coast [in early September] prompted a fight with his wife that has sealed the fate of their marriage,” a friend told In Touch. The source told In Touch that Jolie wanted Pitt to spend the last few days of summer with the family but he left anyway.

“As Brad headed out the door, Angelina was in tears,” according to the magazine.

The magazine’s website features a shortened version of the story that begins with, “In Touch told you first!” and finishes with “For more on Brad and Angie’s divorce, pick up the latest issue of In Touch, on newsstands now!”

In a divorce filing on Monday, Jolie listed their official date of separation as Sept. 15. She is asking for physical custody of the couple’s six children and will ask that Pitt receive visitation rights. Pitt officially adopted three of Jolie’s children, while Jolie gave birth to three more children of their own over the course of their relationship.

“Brangelina,” as they were dubbed by the media, met on the set of the film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” in which they played rival assassins who also happen to be married to each other.

There was widespread speculation at the time that their relationship began onset and that Pitt divorced Jennifer Aniston so he could be with Jolie.
