Arianna Huffington Says Donald Trump Is Like Kim Jong-un, a ‘Dangerous Buffoon’ (Video)

Huffington made the remark during a Grill Chat with TheWrap that broadcast live on Facebook Thursday

Huffington Post founder and editor-in-chief Arianna Huffington called Donald Trump a “buffoon” in a Grill Chat with TheWrap CEO and editor-in-chief Sharon Waxman Thursday.

“He’s a buffoon,” Huffington said. “Somebody can be both a buffoon and dangerous. Look at Kim Jong-un [North Korea’s leader]. You can cover him as a buffoon, but he’s also dangerous because he has nuclear weapons.

“I think Donald Trump is the same thing, and we decided to cover him as a clear and present danger the day he proposed to ban 1.6 billion Muslims [from entering the United States],” the media veteran explained. “And now we have an editor’s note that reminds people of all these things that he stands for.”

The editor’s note Huffington mentioned is added to the end of articles published on Huffington Post that relate to Trump, with embedded links to other relevant posts. The note reads: “Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liarrampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.”

Huffington is currently promoting her new book “The Sleep Revolution,” which discusses how a lack of adequate sleep can seriously impair a person’s ability to function properly.

An issue that she believes the GOP frontrunner suffers from.

“Like a lot of modern men, he [Trump] brags that he only sleeps for four hours, and as he says [that] he tweets during the night, and he often retweets Mussolini,” Huffington said. “They’re symptoms. The inability to process basic information. Mood swings. Outbursts of anger. Paranoid tendencies. Regurgitation of incomprehensible babble. These are all symptoms,” of a lack of sleep.

Huffington was featured Thursday in the first of TheWrap’s live video podcasts, called the Grill Chats, which can be seen on TheWrap’s Facebook page.
