LaMonica Garrett is the latest actor to be cast in this year’s upcoming “Arrowverse” crossover on The CW.

Garrett will play The Monitor, a character with a “prominent role” in the crossover’s plot, which we already know will see Supergirl, The Flash and Green Arrow headed to Gotham City (not to mention the return of Superman and the introduction of both Lois Lane and Batwoman).

Here’s his official character description: “LaMonica plays Mar Novu, an extraterrestrial being of infinite power known as the Monitor.  The Monitor was created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez as part of DC Comics’ 50th Anniversary.  Mr. Pérez will be illustrating a sketch of the Monitor that plays a prominent role in the crossover’s story.”

Garrett will be joining several other new cast members for the three-night event on The CW, which kicks off Dec. 9. Already announced are “Lost” actor Jeremy Davies as Arkham Asylum Dr. John Deegan and “Arrow” star Stephen Amell’s wife Cassandra Jean Amell as Nora Fries. For everything that we know so far about this year’s crossover, head over here.

The event will cause a few shakeups to the network’s regular schedule. “The Flash,” which usually airs on Tuesdays, will kick off the three-night crossover on Dec. 9, followed by “Arrow” on its regular Monday night, and then “Supergirl” — which airs on Sundays this season — in a special slot on Tuesday.

Garrett most recently appeared opposite Keifer Sutherland on “Designated Survivor.” He has also appeared on “The Last Ship” and “Sons of Anarchy.”
