‘Game of Thrones’ Cast Hated Pretending Jon Snow Was Dead

The night is long and full of a complete lack of surprises at the show’s Comic-Con Hall H panel

Remember how frustrating it was when Jon Snow was killed in the “Game of Thrones” season 5 finale, but because the show had surpassed the books, no one seemed to know for certain if he was actually, really dead? And remember how annoying it was that practically every single article written about the show for the next year was a variation of asking a member of the cast whether or not Jon was dead?

As will come as a shock to no one, the cast hated it too. At least, so say co-stars John Bradley (Samwell Tarly) and Kristian Nairn (Hodor).

During the Comic-Con 2017 “Game of Thrones” panel, Nairn, serving as moderator, asked the panelists which deceased character they wish hadn’t been killed off.

“I have to say Jon Snow,” Bradley said. “Just to save us having to talk about it every five minutes for a year. … That was a really crummy year.”

Nairn chimed in with his own story of his own. “I was at a store and someone asked me, for like the 37th time in an hour” if Jon Snow was dead. “I was like ‘You know what? I don’t care.’ The next day, the paper was ‘Kristian Nairn hates Kit Harrington.’”

No hard feelings though. Being unable to talk about the one thing everyone wanted to know sounds pretty awful.

Luckily, no one hates Kristian Nairn. The most frequent response to the question about who the cast would bring back? Hodor.
