Hello Again

Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Award-winner Audra McDonald is currently shooting a film adaptation of “Hello Again,” based an Off Broadway musical by composer Michael John LaChiusa, TheWrap has learned.

McDonald is joined by Emmy winner Martha Plimpton, former “Grey’s Anatomy” star T.R. Knight, Rumer Willis (“Sorority Row”) and “Glee”‘s Jenna Ushkowitz in the film, directed by Tom Gustafson (“Were the World Mine”).

The musical was originally staged in 1994 by Lincoln Center Theatre, where it earned eight Drama Desk nominations. It’s since been performed in numerous languages by companies around the world.

Inspired by Arthur Schnitzler’s 1897 play “La Ronde,” the film follows “10 lost souls who skip across 10 periods in New York City history, slipping in and out of one another’s arms and beds in a daisy-chained exploration of lust’s bittersweet embrace of love,” the production said.

The screenplay was adapted by Cory Krueckeberg with music and lyrics by LaChiusa.

Gustafson, Ash Christian, Cory Krueckeberg and Hunter Arnold are producers, with Devon Schneider on board as co-producer. Gregory Rae and Carl D. White from Martian Entertainment serve as co-Eeecutive Producers.

“Hello Again” is currently shooting in New York City.
