The last Hollywood guild has now handed out its awards – and like most of its predecessors, the Costume Designers Guild gave one of its top honors to "The King's Speech."
Jenny Beavan was given the CDG Award for Excellence in Period Film for her work on Tom Hooper's royal drama, while other feature film winners included Amy Westcott for "Black Swan" (Excellence in Contemporary Film) and Colleen Atwood for "Alice in Wonderland" (Excellence in Fantasy Film).
"The King's Speech" and "Alice" are both nominated for the Costume Design Oscar, along with "I Am Love," "The Tempest" and "True Grit." The last two of those films were also CDG nominees.
In the television categories, honors went to "Glee," "Boardwalk Empire" and "Temple Grandin."
The awards took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and were hosted by Kristin Davis. Participants included Samuel L. Jackson, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, Diane Lane, Robert Duvall and Bill Maher.
