Ratings: ‘Spartan’ Holds Steady, Banishes ‘Bachelorette’-Led ABC to Runner-Up

Dating competition is dragged down by “Mistresses”

NBC’s “Spartan” stayed steady from its series premiere, combining with lead-in “American Ninja Warrior” to keep ABC in second place on Monday night. Though, really, it was the soft “Mistresses” that dragged down the network’s strong “Bachelorette” numbers.

NBC was first in ratings with a 1.7 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 5.8 million, according to preliminary Nielsen numbers. “Ninja Warrior” at 8 p.m. ET earned a 1.8/7 and 6.3 million viewers. At 10, “Spartan” posted a 1.5/5 and 4.6 million viewers.

ABC was second in ratings with a 1.6/6 and in viewers with 5.7 million. “The Bachelorette” at 8 p.m. ET scored a 2.0/8 and 7 million viewers. At 10, “Mistresses” managed a 0.8/3 and 3 million viewers.

CBS was third in ratings with a 0.7/3 and in viewers with 4 million. Following reruns, “BrainDead” received a 0.5/2 and 3.4 million viewers.

Fox and Telemundo tied for fourth in ratings, both with a 0.6/2. Fox was fourth in total viewers with a 2.5 million, Telemundo was fifth with 1.6 million.

For Fox, “So You Think You Can Dance” at 8 p.m. ET had a 0.8/3 and 3.2 million viewers. At 9, “Houdini & Doyle” got a 0.4/1 and 1.8 million viewers.

Univision was sixth in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in viewers with 1.5 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 1 million. “Reign” at 8 p.m. ET had a 0.3/1 and 987,000 viewers. At 9, “Whose Line Is It Anyway” got a 0.3/1 and 1.1 million viewers. A repeat followed.
