Crime drama centers on FBI agent who tries to take down the Mafia
Ben Affleck is turning his directorial talents to the small screen.
The “Argo” star will direct the crime drama “Middle Men,” which has received a pilot order from Fox, the network said Friday.
Affleck will also executive produce the pilot via his Pearl Street Films, along with Pearl Street's Chay Carter. Glenn Gordon Caron (“Moonlighting”), who's writing the project, is also executive producing.
“Middle Man” is set in 1960s Boston and centers on Rudy MacAteer, an FBI agent who's been taking down the Italian mafia, and his confidential informant, Irish-American gangster Mickey Flood. Instead, MacAteer inadvertently ends up giving rise to the Irish mob.
The pilot is being produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Pearl Street.
