‘Better Call Saul’ Enters Sweet, Sticky Partnership With Cinnabon

AMC’s “Breaking Bad” prequel celebrates it premiere by giving fans free baked goods

What could be sweeter for “Breaking Bad” fans than Sunday night’s series premiere of the prequel “Better Call Saul”?

How about a sweet (and free!) MiniBon the day after?

As viewers saw on Sunday night’s episode of the new AMC drama (stop reading now if you haven’t watched it yet — don’t be that guy), it was revealed that titular shyster Saul Goodman (played by Bob Odenkirk) had indeed fulfilled his “Breaking Bad” prophecy, and ended up working at a Cinnabon after bailing on Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.

In honor and celebration of this career move, Cinnabon is hosting a MiniBon giveaway Monday at at all participating U.S. locations from 5 to 9 p.m.

AMC and Cinnabon are also promoting a Twitter sweepstakes which will find one fan winning free Cinnabon for a year.

“Cinnabon is an all-American brand that requires no explaining — that fact appealed to us greatly,” series creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould said. “We loved the idea of our Saul Goodman character taking on a secret identity as the manager of a mall bakery, making a delicious product that’s well-known to everybody everywhere. And fortunately, the nice folks at Cinnabon allowed us to make that happen.”

“This has been such a sweet collaboration for AMC and we are thrilled that Cinnabon is working with us to give something special back to the ‘Saul’ fans,” added AMC’s executive vice president of marketing Linda Schupack. “Vince and Peter have crafted an incredible and cinematic opening sequence for ‘Saul’s’ first episode and we are so excited to bring even a small part of that to life through this partnership.”

The second episode of “Better Call Saul” airs Monday night at 10 p.m. on AMC.
