Bill Maher Slams Conservatives, GOP For Playing Persecuted Christian Card (Video)

“Conservatives who constantly whine that Christianity is under attack from liberals have to explain why there are over 3,000 churches in the U.S. but only 400 Whole Foods,” HBO host says

Bill Maher had some choice words for conservatives and Republicans complaining about Christians being persecuted in America.

During his “New Rules” segment on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” Friday night, the comedian took the right wing to task for decrying Christian persecution or attacks against the conservatives.

“Conservatives who constantly whine that Christianity is under attack from liberals have to explain why there are over 3,000 churches in the U.S. but only 400 Whole Foods,” Maher said. “Clearly your side is winning.”

Maher then quoted some of 2016 Republican presidential hopefuls in an effort to make his point.

“Mike Huckabee says, ‘We are moving rapidly toward the criminalization of Christianity.’ Ted Cruz says, ‘There is no room for Christians in today’s Democratic party.’ What?” Maher asked. “Eighty percent of Democrats in Congress are Christian and 78 percent of Democratic governors. You can look this sh-t up, you know.”
