Brad Garrett Named Host of Writers Guild Awards

The WGAW event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, at L.A. Live

Three-time Emmy Award-winning actor Brad Garrett, best known for his role as Robert Barone on the hit TV series “Everybody Loves Raymond,” has been tapped by the Writers Guild of America, West to host the 2014 Writers Guild Awards.

They will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, at the JW Marriott L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles.

“Writers have always been the backbone of our business, and I’m thrilled to be able to celebrate their big night – plus, I have two hours left to complete my community service,” said Garrett on hosting this year’s WGA show.

“We’re absolutely thrilled that Brad will be our host. With Brad, you not only get one of television’s great comedic actors, but also a fearless stand-up comic, a truly hilarious observer, and a consummate professional,” said 2014 WGA L.A. show executive producer Cort Casady.

Colin Quinn will replace W. Kamau Bell as host of the Writers Guild of America East: 66th Annual Writers Guild Awards. The award show will be held simultaneously in New York City and Los Angeles. This year’s show will be webcast at latimes.com, at 6 p.m. PT.
