Brie Larson Denounces Hollywood ‘It’ Girl Label (Video)

“Room” actress doesn’t even understand what the played-out pronoun means

Brie Larson has no idea if she is Hollywood’s “It” girl, because she doesn’t even get what that means.

The “Room” star denounced the title to Tracy Smith yesterday on “CBS Sunday Morning.”

“What is ‘it’? Larson asked, sincerely.

“I guess it means the girl of the moment,” Smith replied.

That didn’t satiate Larson’s confusion.

“But what is “it’? There is no ‘it’!” she said. “And who was ‘it’ before ‘it’? And when does ‘it’ go away?”

Furthermore, “When did I get ‘it’? Who’s gonna take ‘it’?”

“It’s so weird. I think it’s a really funny term,” Larson concluded. “I’m just a person. I’m not anything!”

She had an equally charming and earnest reaction when asked about Oscar buzz for her breakout performance, which can currently be caught in theaters. Watch the video above.
