Caitlyn Jenner delivered a clever response to Ricky Gervais‘ Golden Globes joke about her driving.
Jenner was asked about how she feels about Gervais during the “I Am Cait” panel at the Television Critics Association winter press tour Thursday.
“On Ricky, I think what I’m gonna do is call the Golden Globes and see if they need a new host for next year,” she said. “And we’ll solve that problem.”
Gervais joked on Sunday:
“What a year she’s had! She became a role model for trans people everywhere, showing great bravery in breaking down barriers and destroying stereotypes. She didn’t do a lot for women drivers.”
The joke, one of his harshest of the night, referred to a fatal car crash in 2015.
Gervais refused to apologize or back down from his jokes, saying on Twitter, “Suggesting a joke about Caitlin [sic] Jenner is automatically transphobic is like suggesting a joke about Bill Cosby is automatically racist.”
The second season of “I Am Cait” premieres Sunday, March 6 on E!
