Boaz Yakin is directing the movie, which stars Josh Wiggins, Thomas Haden Church and Lauren Graham
“Army Wives” alum Joseph Julian Soria has joined the cast of MGM's family adventure film “Max,” which Boaz Yakin is directing from a script he co-wrote with Sheldon Lettich, TheWrap has learned.
Story follows a military dog left traumatized by his handler's death in Afghanistan. Adopted by the soldier's bereaved family, the dog bonds with the soldier's troubled 14-year-old brother (Josh Wiggins, “Hellion”), and together they begin to heal one another.
Soria will play Emilio, a tough gangster who crosses path with the titular animal.
Soria is a veteran TV actor whose feature credits include “Fast & Furious,” “Hamlet 2,” “Crank: High Voltage” and “Filly Brown” He most recently co-starred alongside Kristen Stewart in “Camp X-Ray,” which IFC Films acquired out of Sundance. He's repped by Defining Artists Agency and David Dean Management.
