Network says that it's confident that it's achieved the highest pricing in the marketplace
CBS is closing in on completing its upfront ad sales, the network told TheWrap in a statement on Friday.
According to the network, as things wrap up, CBS is shaping up to have gained the highest ad pricing and most total dollars in the marketplace.
The network added that it is “very pleased” that C7 — which takes into account DVR viewing up to seven days — has played a part in this year's negotiations.
“As we near the finish line, we are very confident that CBS has once again achieved the highest pricing and most total dollars in the Upfront marketplace,” the company said. “Agencies and clients continue to value the strength, stability and delivery that we provide as a pure-play broadcaster, and we are very pleased that in addition to C3, C7 is now playing a meaningful part in our negotiations.”
Specific numbers were not made available. In 2013, the network found itself essentially even with the $2.7 billion it brought in the previous year, with a 7 1.2 to 8 1/2 percent boost in ad rates for the network.
