Charlie Sheen Only Disclosed HIV Status Because He’s ‘Been Busted,’ Sharon Osbourne Says (Video)

“He’s not come forward because he wants to help people or set an example that you can lead a healthy life” with the condition, “The Talk” personality says

If you’re looking for a parade after coming forward about your HIV-positive status, don’t look to Sharon Osbourne to lead the charge, Charlie Sheen.

Osbourne blasted the former “Two and a Half Men” star on Tuesday’s episode of the CBS show “The Talk,” saying that Sheen only came forward because he’d been caught.

“He’s not come forward because he wants to help people or set an example that you can lead a healthy life with HIV,” Osbourne chastised. “He’s come forward because he has been busted.”

Osbourne’s cohort Sara Gilbert, meanwhile, suggested that the actor might have been moved by conscience.

“Maybe this has been weighing on him … I never like to give up on anybody. I just I hope that he does get sober.”

Sheen came forward about his HIV-positive status on Tuesday’s episode of NBC morning show “Today,” after a blind-item report had been circulating, and National Enquirer called out the actor by name on Monday.

Sheen revealed his status to Matt Lauer, saying that HIV is “a hard three letters to absorb.”

The actor, who revealed that he was diagnosed with the condition four years ago, said he informed each of his post-diagnosis sexual partners of his HIV status. However, porn actress Bree Olson, one of Sheen’s former “goddesses,” refuted that claim in an interview with Howard Stern, claiming, “He never said anything to me.”
