The 20th season of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” had its first casualties on Monday.

It is never easy to be the first one to go, and this year the unfortunate honor went to Redfoo of the electronic dance music group, LMFAO.

The crazy-haired singer’s elimination was due to a combination of judges’ scores and viewer votes after he was tied at the bottom of the board last week with model Charlotte McKinney, both scoring 22 out of 40.

However, the Carl’s Jr. spokesmodel had more fans dialing from home and it was Redfoo and his partner, Emma Slater, who were sent packing.

Redfoo voiced his anxiety about last week’s poor performance before taking to the stage. “It is concerning and it is motivating,” he told the ABC cameras during rehearsals. “I don’t think anyone really knows how much I want this. They see the fro and they see the glasses and all this stuff, but I am serious.”

Even the judges seemed pleasantly surprised this week, with Len Goodman saying: “What it lacked in technique you made up for in energy.”

“Sometimes you just need a little of a fire to get going,” said Julianne Hough.

While the pair earned a solid score of 31 for their jive, their ejection at the end of Monday’s episode sparked loud boos from the disgruntled audience.

“You’ve got to vote, guys,” host Tom Bergeron reminded viewers. “This is somebody who did a great job and because of viewer votes … and a tenth of a percent, a tenth of a percent.”

Also finding themselves in the bottom four were Suzanne Somers and “Bachelor” star Chris Soules.

Rumer Willis catapulted to the top of the scoreboard last week when she earned a standing ovation from both the audience and her parents, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, but she and partner Val Chmerkovskiy dropped from the top perch, with Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough taking the lead.

Willis’ “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” star mom urged all her fans to vote for her dancing daughter on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Redfoo’s rejection prompted angry reactions on Twitter.
