Why Danny Trejo Wants Betty White to Star in His New Movie (Exclusive Video)

“We’re gonna have a hard time because you look so young,” actor says about the “Golden Girls” star in an interview with TheWrap’s Stuart Brazell

Danny Trejo‘s next movie doesn’t just feature his usual brand of weird and badass — it’s for a good cause, too.

The crowd-funded “Social Security,” now raising money on Indiegogo, is described as “Die Hard” set at a retirement facility. And after he and his fellow filmmakers discovered overwhelming cases of senior-citizen abuse in researching the movie, Trejo decided to donate proceeds from the film to preventing such crimes in the future.

During a recent interview with TheWrap’s Stuart Brazell at his new restaurant, Trejo’s Tacos, the “Machete” star also revealed his dream cast member for the project.

Betty White, if you want to work, let me know, please!” the actor pleaded directly to the “Golden Girls” star. “I know we’ll have a tough time since you look so young.”

“Social Security” director Craig Moss (a veteran of such parody movies as “The 41-Year-Old Virgin Who Knocked Up Sarah Marshall and Felt Superbad About It”) also joined the interview, revealing that perks of the Indiegogo campaign range from merchandise to a walk-on role in the film — in a fight scene opposite Trejo.

“Who wouldn’t want to be in a fight scene with Danny?” he said. “You either get punched by Danny or you can hit Danny.”

With four days left in its flexible campaign, “Social Security” has raised more than $27,000 and is looking for $75,000 total.
