David Fincher’s Netflix Show ‘Mindhunter’ Gets Creepy First Trailer (Video)

The crime series will debut this October

“Imagine what it takes to bludgeon someone to death, the lust for control, the feeling of arousal, the decision to humiliate a corpse.” So begins the first trailer for “Mindhunter,” David Fincher’s second series with Netflix following “House of Cards.”

The new show stars Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany as two FBI agents who, in 1979, interview incarcerated serial killers in order to solve new cases.

“We can’t like everything we do,” Groff says in the preview. “We’re talking to serial killers. You want truffles? You gotta get in the dirt with the pigs.”

The show is executive produced by Fincher and Charlize Theron and was shot in Pittsburgh throughout 2016. It was adapted from the book “Mind Hunter: Inside FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit” by Mark Olshaker and John E. Douglas, which chronicled Douglas’ personal experiences as a profiler for the FBI, where he specialized in investigating rapists and serial killers.

“Mindhunter” will debut this October on Netflix.
