1971: Creates the first Hard Rock Cafe in London, at age 25

 
1982: Hard Rock begins global expansion; Morton opens Hard Rock Cafes in L.A., San Francisco,Chicago and Houston
 
1990: The Rank Group acquires Hard Rock America from Morton; He and Tarlton marry
 
1995: The Rank Group acquires the Hard Rock Cafes for $410 million; Morton retains the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas
 
1993: Morton's Steakhouse begins hosting the annual Vanity Fair Oscar party
 
1997: Morton and Tarlton divorce
 
1998: Serves as executive producer on the film "Two Smoking Barrels"
 
2000: Serves as executive producer on the film "Snatch"
 
2006: Sells the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel and Casino to New York-based Morgans Hotel Company for $770 million -- along with rights to Hard Rock Hotel brand west of the Mississippi River
 

2007: Serves as executive producer on the film "Stardust"
