Julianne Moore will receive the Montecito Award at the 25th annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival, which runs Feb. 4-14.
SBIFF executive director Roger Durling announced the honor Thursday. He said the tribute to the four-time Oscar nominee, whom he called "a cinematic treasure, will take place Feb. 11 at the historic Arlington Theatre.
The Montecito Award honors a performer who has given a series of classic and standout performances in his or her career. Previous recipients include the first winner, Annette Bening in 2005, as well as Kate Winslet, Javier Bardem and Naomi Watts.
Moore was honored by the Hollywood Film Festival earlier this year.
She is currently on screen in Tom Ford's "A Single Man."
Moore's many well-received performances include Todd Haynes' "Safe" (for which she won the Independent Spirit Award) and "Far From Heaven," Robert Altman's "Short Cuts" and Paul Thomas Anderson's "Boogie Nights" and "Magnolia."
She earned two Oscar nominations in the same year, for "Far From Heaven" and "The Hours."
