Stewart Till Finalizes Icon Group Deal

Stewart Till, former CEO of United International Pictures, has closed a long-gestating deal to buy the U.K. operations of Mel Gibson's Los Angeles-based Icon Group.

The deal is backed by Access Industries, founded and run by U.S. industrialist Len Blavatnik.

The deal, finalized after more than a year of negotiations between Till and Icon co-founder Bruce Davey, sees Till gain control of Icon's international sales banner, the U.K.-based distribution operation and the Majestic Films & Television library.
