Universal’s Scott Bernstein has been given the bump to executive VP of production from senior-VP-level status.

He'll continue to report to Universal production president Debbie Liebling,

At Universal, Bernstein has been involved with projects including “Hellboy II,” “The Break-Up” and “Role Models, and he’s currently at work on comedy “Your Highness” and a prequel to John Carpenter’s “The Thing.” He’s also developing the Dark Horse graphic novel “The Umbrella Academy, as well as a feature-film version of “Battlestar Galactica."

Prior to joining Universal in 2007, Bernstein served as a production executive at Revolution Studios and Lionsgate.

“Scott has a real sense of what’s next in pop culture which informs his work on comedies and genre films,” Langley said in a statement. He’s been a great asset to the studio and we're glad to have him on our team.”
