The Directors Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers will enter formal contract negotiations for the groups’ 2017 agreement on Monday, Dec. 5.

Neither the DGA or AMPTP will share insights with the media until the close of negotiations, both groups announced on Thursday.

They previously set a tentative date in October to enter into contract negotiations for early December 2016.

Both parties have been in communication ahead of the tentative negotiation date to help further define the issues for the 2017 Agreement.

The DGA, which boasts more than 16,000 members, has a three-year deal with the AMPTP which expires on June 30, 2017.
