Dick Wolf Wants SAG to Consider All His ‘Chicago’ Shows as One Ensemble

TCA 2016: Executive producer tells TV critics he’s “waiting for an answer” on formal request

Dick Wolf has formally petitioned the Screen Actors Guild to consider the casts of all his “Chicago” shows as one ensemble.

He’s “waiting for an answer” on that, the executive producer told reporters at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour on Tuesday.

Wolf’s three existing series set (and shot) in the Windy City have been known to crossover actors and storylines, muddying the small-screen awards waters a bit.

To complicate matters further, a fourth cast and series will soon be added to the NBC universe.

In addition to “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago PD” and “Chicago Med,” Wolf will launch “Chicago Justice” this coming TV season. A four-way crossover will likely come this spring, he told media members assembled in the Beverly Hilton’s International Ballroom this afternoon.

Earlier in the day, NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt said a fifth “Chicago” procedural could theoretically join the mix, if readers can imagine that.
