“Under the Dome” showrunner Neal Baer will remain under the umbrella at CBS Television Studios for a few more years.
Baer (“A Gifted Man,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”) has extended his overall deal with CBS Television Studios, which will keep him with the company through 2016.

Under the deal, Baer will continue on as showrunner as “Under the Dome.”
He is also developing the outside-the-“Dome” “The Three Behrs,” a drama that’s been sold to CBS. The project, which Baer is writing and executive producing with Dan Truly, will center around three doctors who discover that they’re brothers at a prominent New York City hospital. Their recently deceased father, who served as a legendary chief at the hospital, wanted them to posthumously take over the hospital and continue his legacy.

Baer, who graduated from Harvard Medical School, completed his internship in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and serves on the boards of numerous organizations related to health care.
CBS Television Studios is producing with Baer Bones.

In its first season, “Under the Dome” averaged more than 16 million total viewers weekly across television, DVR playback, VOD and online streaming.
