Donald Trump might have had a friend in Michael Jackson, but he seems to have made an enemy in the King of Pop’s brother Jermaine.
Jermaine Jackson ripped into the GOP presidential candidate on Twitter, after Trump claimed that Michael Jackson lost his confidence because of bad plastic surgery.
“‘Friends’ don’t pay tribute by peddling b.s. theories about Michael’s ‘loss in confidence.’ This fool Trump needs to sit down,” Jackson wrote Friday.
Jackson continued, “Michael’s confidence was affected by the pressures, injustice and vitriol of external circumstances. Period.”
He also accused Trump of having his facts about Michael Jackson “botched.”
“Name-dropping Michael don’t make you cool and won’t win you votes. Especially when using botched facts,” Jackson wrote.
During CNN’s Town Hall on Thursday, Trump told Anderson Cooper that Jackson, who died in 2009, was “a very good friend of mine.”
Trump nonetheless went on to opine that Jackson lost his confidence due to bad plastic surgery.
“He was an unbelievably talented guy. He lost his confidence. He lost tremendous confidence because of, honestly, bad-bad-bad surgery. He had the worst. He had people that did numbers on him that were just unbelievable,” Trump said. “You know, the plastic surgeons. He was an unbelievable talent who actually lost his confidence. Believe it or not, when you lose your confidence in something you can even lose your talent.”
