Donald Trump to CNN: ‘You Should Congratulate Me’ (Video)

“I thought at least there would be a small congratulations,” the presumptive GOP nominee says

Donald Trump called into CNN’s “New Day” this morning and told co-host Chris Cuomo that he “should congratulate” him.

“First of all, you should congratulate me for having won the race. I thought at least there would be a small congratulations, but I’m not surprised with CNN because that’s the way they treat Trump,” the presumptive GOP nominee said when Cuomo attempted to start the interview with a policy question.

Trump continued, “They call [CNN] the Clinton network and I believe that.”

Cuomo responded by saying, “Wait, hold on. Mr. Trump, I did congratulate you the last time we spoke. I said congratulations on winning the big race. What are you going to do going forward?”

Trump then got sarcastic with Cuomo: “Thank you very much. So warm and so well-felt.”

“You’re starting off with a question, we haven’t spoken — last week, towards the end, I was the, essentially the nominee of the party, and you start off with this question which is not surprising, because I understand CNN perhaps a lot better than you do,” Trump told Cuomo, who decided to “restart” the interview at that point.

Cuomo and Trump went on to argue over NAFTA, how CNN covers Trump rallies, the G.I. bill and whether Bill Clinton’s infidelity is fair game during the general election, among a variety of other topics.
