“You’re assigning malice, you’re assigning wrongdoing to him, where it doesn’t exist,” she tells CNN’s “New Day”

Kellyanne Conway doesn’t understand why people care so much about President-elect Donald Trump’s Twitter account, and defended his recent tweets bashing “Hamilton” and “Saturday Night Live.”

“Why do you care?” Conway asked CNN “New Day” host Chris Cuomo on Monday. “Who is to say that he can’t do that do that, make a comment, spend five minutes on a tweet and making a comment and still be the president-elect?”

“You’re assigning malice, you’re assigning wrongdoing to him, where it doesn’t exist,” Conway, who is expected to have a role in Trump’s administration, added.

Conway said Twitter is a great way for Trump to cut through the “noise or the silence” because sometimes “important things he’s saying and doing are getting zero coverage” by mainstream media. CNN, she said, will “always be focused on his divisions.”

“How about accepting election results, Chris, and letting him form a government?” Conway asked Cuomo, who replied, “How have we not done that?”

“By this conversation,” Conway said.
