Dwayne Johnson Shaken Up in Groundbreaking ‘San Andreas’ Trailer (Video)

Alexandra Daddario and Paul Giamatti co-star in New Line’s 2015 earthquake movie

The first official trailer for Brad Peyton’s “San Andreas” is earth-shattering. Literally.

Dwayne Johnson stars as a helicopter rescue pilot in New Line’s upcoming disaster flick, which is set for a May 2015 release.

The first trailer, released on Tuesday and filled with explosive CGI, is a creepy vision of what should happen if the San Andreas fault-line finally split in two made even creepier by the eerie cover of The Mamas & the Papas’ classic “California Dreamin.’”

Paul Giamatti co-stars as an earthquake specialist tasked with convincing the world of the situation’s severity: “I cannot emphasize this enough. You need to get out, and I mean now. Because even though this is happening here in California, you will feel it on the east coast.”

Alexandra Daddario (“Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief”), Carla Gugino (“Wayward Pines”), Todd Williams (“Vampire Diaries”) and Colton Haynes (“The Flash”) co-star in the film, which lists Allan Loeb (“Rock of Ages”) and Carlton Cuse (“Bates Motel”) as two of the co-writers.

Johnson, who also starred in Peyton’s “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” and will return in “Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon,” has already tweeted out his excitement:

Watch the trailer.

“San Andreas” shakes up theaters on May 29, 2015.
