‘Ellen’ Show’s Return Banks Highest-Rated Week in Show History

Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talker saw a 4 percent increase in the household ratings for its Season 12 debut

The “Ellen” show saw a slight increase in household ratings for its first week of Season 12, but it was enough to earn the show its highest rated debut week ever.

Hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, the syndicated daytime talker saw a 4 percent increase in the household rating for the week of Sept. 8, according to preliminary numbers.

The No. 1 show in daytime syndication, “Ellen’s” debut week ranked No. 1 among several demographics against all other syndicated talk shows, including Women 25-54, Women 18-34 and 18-49 and Adults 25-54.

Produced by A Very Good Production and WAD Productions, Inc. in association with Telepictures, the show also improved upon its lead-in by 80 percent in share points among the Talk TV’s key demo, Women 25-54.

Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, Maroon 5, Kim Kardashian, Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora were among DeGeneres’ guest during the debut week.
