Ah, Emmy nomination reactions — the television crowd’s way of kind-of, sort-of getting to make an acceptance speech, just in case you don’t actually end up winning.

With Emmy nominations announced Thursday, those lucky enough to get a nom are once again gushing with expressions of thrilled gratitude, honored pride and excited happiness over just being included among such an amazing list of artists.

While the reactions are still flooding into TheWrap’s in-box, so far “honor” is far ahead of the pack in this year’s statements — of the nominees tallied so far, a full 15 have declared that they were “honored” to be nominated, or that the nomination was an “honor.”

However, don’t sleep on all the thrills being experienced today; “thrilled” and “thrilling” are a strong second place, with eight mentions. And there is an admirable amount of gratitude going on — so far five nominees have declared themselves “grateful” in one way or another.

A possible new entry in the Emmy Nomination Reaction Olympics: “chuffed,” which we’re going to assume is a good thing. Peter Morgan of “The Crown” declared himself “chuffed, thrilled, proud and honored” by the recognition — a list that might deserve some kind of crown of its own. Meanwhile, “Top Chef” personality Padma Lakshmi classed things up, declaring herself “elated” over her show’s nomination for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program.

Sterling K. Brown of “This Is Us” likewise shook things up, declaring the nomination the “cherry on top” of the sundae that is having “the best job on TV!”

Happiness was also in the air for the Emmy nominees Thursday morning, with four nominees declaring that they were happy with the nominations. Two nominees were stunned by the nomination or found the nomination stunning — one of whom being “The Handmaid’s Tale” creator Bruce Miller, who also found the experience “overwhelming.”

Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, co-creators and show-runners for HBO’s “Westworld,” called the series’ 22 Emmy nominations a “special thrill,” declaring themselves “delighted” and stating that they “could not be more honored” to be nominated — quite the outpouring of gratitude, though it might not be considered excessive, since it was split between two people.

TheWrap will continue to update the tally as the reactions keep rolling in. In the meantime, congratulations nominees — it’s been a thrilling honor that we’re grateful and happy for to read your reactions.
