Congratulations could be in order for Tatiana Maslany, Jon Hamm, Anthony Anderson and Amy Schumer — should the Emmys work out the way Facebook predicts them to.
In proprietary data shared exclusively with TheWrap, Facebook forecasts “Game of Thrones” to win top drama on Sunday, and “Modern Family” to continue its dominance over the comedy category — sorry, “Transparent.” The social media giant would also hand the variety series Emmy Award over to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
The only problem is, Facebook data obviously doesn’t count at all in Academy voting, but it’s still a pretty fun barometer for what the fans are thinking.
Here’s how the below rankings came about: Mark Zuckerberg’s social media machine aggregated Emmy-related engagement since nominations were announced and predicted the following “winners” based on those Facebook interactions.
